I’ve finally received all of the items I ordered over the Christmas period, I knew that many of them would not stay on my wish list for very long and I’ve already started to experiment with them. Dare I say some have already secured places on my staples list! I’ll start with one of my most anticipated packages, the Infiniti Pro Conair Hair Designer …
I literally put this order in whilst writing my ‘2015 Must Haves’ post. I haven’t used heat on my hair since November 2013 and now I’m really craving it! I’ve mentioned already that 2015 is going to be a very experimental hair year for me, so I’ll be needing this to prepare my hair for my next big protective style. Of course I’ll share my thoughts as soon as I give it a whizz.
Yes I’m back to wigging! Divawigs contacted me in December and asked if I would review one of their wig units. I took them up on the offer with hopes of reliving my previous wig success which was found in my long loved Creta Girl wig during my transitioner days. I figured this would be a great protective style for my speedy growth plan challenge which officially starts in two weeks time! You’ll be hearing more about this soon . In the meantime I’m running to Youtube for some lace front knot bleaching tips. Let’s hope I can figure it out!
Believe it or not I have yet to come across the PERFECT Shampoo for my natural hair. Whilst I have some staples I am still convinced that I can do better. I look forward to giving these Shampoos a try, especially the Afrocenchix Swirl Shampoo which so far I have only heard good things about. Any other recommendations?
Having kicked off the new year with the new Beauty Corner Series I figured I am officially allowed to share beauty related things! I’ve already started using all three of these items every single day, which is a huge stretch for someone like me who really only wears makeup at the weekend. Let me start with the MAC Prolongwear Concealer. This stuff is amazing! I previously used a creamy concealer by Bobbi Brown, but would find that this would easily crease a few hours after application due to the oily nature of my skin. The Prolongwear Concealer on the other hand can go the whole day without creasing. I apply it very lightly with the MAC 286 blending brush and have started to wear it daily, my under eyes have never been so hapy!
As for the other two products, my holy grail nude lip gloss is hands down LUST by Mac. A light application of this topped with a clear lip gloss gives me the ‘makeup no makeup’ look that I’ve been going for lately, especially for work.
Last but not least my eyebrow saver, Spiked. I ran out of this last week Friday and pretty much ran to my nearest MAC store just before it closed to get it. I’m hooked on this, come rain or shine I refuse to go without it!
Finally, another product from my ‘Must Haves’ post which I actually wish I had bought two of. The Matrix Biolage Keratindose is a creamy liquid leave-in spray specially formulated with Pro-Keratin and Silk. Upon first application I liked the texture but could not make any final decisions on my thoughts. That however changed very quickly. Due to feeling a bit under the weather last week I had no energy to style my hair in any style besides a simple high puff. Now, if you’ve ever worn a high puff for more than 5 days in a row you’ll know that you may end up with very dry and somewhat matted hair, definitely not what I bargained for. On day 5 of wearing the high puff I finally found the energy to do a twist out and the Keratindose literally melted my tangles away. The next day not only did my hair feel moisturised, it also felt quite strong. I look forward to using this product some more before an official review.
