Happy Monday Loves!
Welcome to this opportunity full week, otherwise known as the sixth week of 2016. Some of you may know already that I left my job in Finance last year and I’ve yet to inform you about the new one. Well that’s because there is no new one, at least not yet!
One of the greatest feelings I have ever experienced is letting go of someone, or in this case something that drains my happiness, and that’s exactly what my job came to be, a happiness drainer. Now it may seem a little dramatic to call it that, but towards the end of my three year run I disliked it so much it began to affect my state of mind, and that’s where the line had to be drawn. So of course I left, and to the dislike of many without a new job in hand, which brings me to this post and a recent decision to step things all the way up.
Since leaving my job I’ve spent most of my time overindulging in Pinterest and filming videos for my Youtube channel. Whilst it’s so unbelievably satisfying being able to spend a large part of my day focusing on things I get so much satisfaction from, I came to learn last week after my hard drive gave up on me [which ended in a wet pillow of tears! #biggirlscrytoo], that I was spending too much time doing basic things and there was a need for change.
Let me explain.
When my hard drive crashed there were two things on my mind. One, it housed many childhood memories and photos of and with my mum. Two, I had filmed three videos which were due to be published this week and these were gone too. But it wasn’t until the day after the incident that I began to re-plan the filming of my lost videos, that it dawned on me how much time I had been dedicating to filming these videos, and how little time I had set aside to post on my blog, develop one of my long-term business plans, apply for jobs and quite simply put – develop other skills. Truth is I was lacking in serious time and priority management.
In order to become more productive and really get the most out of this hobby of mine, as well as developing myself in other areas whilst I’m out of work, I have decided to tackle my time and priority issue in two ways, the first one being adopting the ‘Miracle Morning’ way of life.
I am convinced that by transforming my morning routine I will be able to more effectively manage my day and make it more productive than it’s ever been. I know this will have a great impact in many areas of my life and can’t wait to share my experiences of it with you, including what it’s all about. My second time and priority management solution comes in the form of a Bullet Journal. Where has this been all my life?! (More on this in the next week or two)
So that’s it lovelies, a little background behind the changes you’ll be seeing on LYT this year. I would love to know if any of you have read ‘The Miracle Morning’ or any other personal growth resources and what you think of them
